Original Title: Foreign Media: Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant is temporarily closed for maintenance work

China News Service, June 21. According to the Russian Satellite Network, citing a report from Iran’s national television station, Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant is temporarily closed and maintenance work will be carried out.

According to reports, an official of Iran’s National Electric Power Company, Goramali Rahshanimel, said on a program that the Bushehr plant’s closure began on June 19 and will last for “three to four days.”

He said that power outages may be caused, and the nuclear power plant will be repaired.

According to a report by the Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA), due to financial difficulties caused by US sanctions, Iran stated in March that the Bushehr nuclear power plant may completely cease operations this year.

Russian Satellite Network said that the construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant is the largest joint project between Russia and Iran. On September 23, 2013, the first unit of the Bushehr nuclear power plant with a power of 1,000 megawatts was handed over to Iran. In 2014, Russia and Iran signed a contract for the construction of the second and third units of the Bushehr nuclear power plant. It is expected that the project will take 10 years to complete.
