Damiano Caruso and Elia Viviani are two stars of the first magnitude in the universe of Italian and world cycling, they were great protagonists at the last Giro d’Italia and will be two of the extraordinary and expected first actors on the scene of the “Italian Cycling Week – On the roads della Sardegna ”, an international event by Great Events, Natura Srl and GS Emilia scheduled on the island from 14 to 18 July 2021.
The talented Caruso, the real surprise of the Giro, and Viviani, the next blue flag bearer at the Tokyo Olympics have in fact declared that they will take full advantage of the opportunity offered by the Sardinian Week to keep the powders warm and prepare for the Five Circles challenge. Like them also Filippo Ganna, and this is only the beginning. The stage race made in Sardinia, included in the cycling calendar with the last week overlapping the Tour de France, will be one of the only two races in the world approaching the Japanese Olympic Games.
The occasion is tempting, unmissable. And many will not let it get away. Departure from Alghero, passages to Sassari and Oristano and arrival in Cagliari. Five stages, an 860 km track, 24 teams at the start (many had expressed an interest in participating), 7 athletes per team, about 3000 people involved between technical and family staff, dedicated Rai windows in conjunction with the Tour and maximum visibility dedicated. Full and convinced support from the regional institution and from the municipal administrations of Alghero, Sassari, Oristano and Cagliari.
