With the start of the weekend, the African anticyclone will hit Italy with hot air directly from the Sahara desert towards Italy.
The team of experts of the site iLMeteo.it let it be known that the hot African air crossing the Mediterranean Sea will be loaded with humidity that will make the next days tropical, especially during the evening hours when temperatures will continue to measure values above 26 ° C . During the day, however, temperatures will exceed 40 ° C in Sardinia, Sicily and Puglia, up to 38-39 ° C instead in Emilia, Calabria, Marche and Umbria.
On Sunday the anticyclone will allow the temporary entry of cooler air at high altitude which will be the cause of the strong storms that will break out on the Alpine sectors and locally on the pre-Alpine ones. In this context, important hailstorms are not excluded. With the beginning of next week, the anticyclone will increase its power, overheating the southern regions where peaks of 42-44 ° C can be reached, especially in Sicily.
