Old buildings, first recoveries in Conegliano: nine apartments soon assigned

by admin

It took years to restore a building in the Mille area, which will soon be inhabited. The Municipality is looking for a private partner to renovate the other two blocks

CONEGLIANO. The renovated building with special agreements in via Cacciatori delle Alpi in the Mille area was inaugurated on Friday. Two former popular condominiums remain in decay and a public-private agreement will be sought to redevelop them. In the meantime, next week the Municipality will carry out the assignments of the nine completely new apartments, which will go to families who have been waiting for accommodation for some time. There are also houses with three bedrooms, for large families.

This concludes a process that lasted over five years, since at the beginning of 2016 Conegliano obtained a contribution of 450 thousand euros from the Region, financing half of the restoration costs of that abandoned building.

The works had started in 2018 and now the building, dating back to the 1950s but becoming like new, is ready to be inhabited. The ceremony was attended by municipal officials, representing municipal employees, who with their work made it possible to reach the finish line. “The nine accommodations are delivered at a time when the housing emergency continues to represent one of the most recurring and pressing social issues,” recalled Prefectural Commissioner Antonello Roccoberton.

“For this reason it is necessary, albeit with many difficulties, to seize every possible opportunity to respond to citizens’ requests. The municipal administration in synergy with the Region has an ongoing program for the redevelopment of the area adjacent to the new building, with the demolition and reconstruction of the buildings ».

In via Cacciatori delle Alpi there are two dilapidated buildings and some people live in a third: they should be demolished and rebuilt.

In January 2019, the municipal council approved the variant for the construction of condominiums with a special agreement, also involving areas in via Vecchia Trevigiana in Parè and Via dei Ciliegi in Campolongo. However, the agreement between the Municipality of Conegliano and Cerv, the Venetian residential building consortium, which was to take care of the construction, had no longer reached the council. It will be one of the objectives to be put on the agenda by the next municipal administration.

In a few weeks the keys will be handed over to the assignee families and the condominium will be managed by Ater. “The area is to be regenerated, regional funds must be intercepted,” says Oscar Borsato, member of the board of directors of Ater Treviso. “There are many requests and few funds. There are housing needs not only of immigrants, but also young people who want to find a home to make a family and find no answers in the private market “.
