Fire in a chemical company in Fontane di Villorba, the mayor: “Stay at home”

VILLORBA. Extensive fire in a chemical company in Fontane di Villorba. The alarm went off just before 8.30 today, Sunday 6 June.

The fire brigade teams from Treviso and Castelfranco converged on the spot. The area has been enclosed by police patrols as the factory processes chemical solvents.

The company, Coventya di Villorba, is located in via Fratelli Rosselli.

“This is a very demanding operation”, they say to the operations center of the Treviso fire brigade. In the meantime, the ARPAV technicians are also intervening on site.

Alerted the mayor of Villorba Marco Serena and the Prefecture. “We invite you, as a precaution, to stay at home, not to go near the industrial area and to keep doors and windows closed until further notice”, the mayor’s message.

The fire is under control but the alert of the firefighters, given the presence of solvents inside the factory, is maximum. Comforting news arrives from the operations center of the provincial fire brigade command of Treviso: “The fire is now under control and we have been able to identify where it started from. For the moment we have no other news but the emergency plan of the Municipality and ours has certainly been implemented ”.

There are 10 fire brigade teams on site with about twenty men in all.
