[Epoch Times, June 3, 2021]Recently, the mainland post-90s actress Chao Ran commented on the CCP’s red TV series “The Awakening Age” in a live broadcast that “sounds so ugly”, but unexpectedly attracted mainland netizens to “condemn”. Finally, Chao Ran was forced to apologize and donate publicly.
On May 29th, Chao Ran chatted and interacted with netizens in the live broadcast room. During this period, Chao Ran’s live broadcast partner recommended to him the TV series “Awakening Age”, a century-old Chinese Communist Party. Chao Ran replied: “What, American drama?” The partner explained: “No, domestically produced. Talk about how our ancestors established our country.”
After hearing this, Chao Ran disagreed, and continued: “It sounds ugly.” Her partner immediately bumped her leg to remind her that Chao Ran was back to work hard to find supplements.
Unexpectedly, Chao Ran’s remarks were “condemned and suppressed” by mainland netizens. After the live broadcast, things were still fermenting.
On June 1, Chao Ran was forced to publish an apology video and said that he had never heard of the show and would donate RMB 100,000 to the veteran in the name of the show.
It is reported that “The Awakening Age” was jointly produced by the Propaganda Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Propaganda Department of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee, the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau and the Anhui Radio and Television Bureau.
