The olbiesi are preparing for the eighth season in a row in the A2 series of volleyball The president Sarti thanks Giandomenico and announces many other news

SASSARI. Hermea Olbia restarts from coach Dino Guadalupi for his eighth consecutive season in the women’s A2 volleyball national championship. Born in Brindisi in 1976, Guadalupi began coaching in the youth sector of Amateurs Volleyball, before arriving in Serie A, first in Altamura (A2), then in Imola and Vicenza (A1) as assistant to Manuela Benelli. Since 2014, however, he has held the position of head coach in A2 in Sala Consilina and Baronissi, while in the last two seasons he has led Offanengo in B1.

«Returning to A2 is a great stimulus – says the coach – I am interested in working in a structured and professional way, and in Olbia there are all the prerequisites. I arrive with great enthusiasm in a company that has been able to gradually build credibility on a national level. I will try to set up a team with an obsessive attention in the break phase. We have an idea on the construction of the workforce, but only at the end of the market will we be able to understand what the strengths will be. Certainly the next Hermaea will be a young team, but we don’t want to face the next championship as mere extras ».

«I thank the outgoing coach Emiliano Giandomenico – is the comment of the president Gianni Sarti – a special person and excellent coach, to whom we wish the best of luck. As for Guadalupi, I have received excellent references on his behalf, and in this period, in negotiations for new athletes, his name is always well appreciated by everyone ».

Eight seasons in A2 represent an absolute record in Sardinian women’s volleyball, which will equalize the permanence of the men’s Olimpia Sant’Antioco (from 1990 to 1998, a season in A1), and one step away from that of Cagliari Volley, in A2 between 2000 and 2008, with a year in A1. To do better and more in this new adventure, the company has also fleshed out its organization chart, with president Sarti who will be able to make use of the collaboration of the general manager Michelangelo Anile, former coach of the first team and head of the youth sector, and of Jenny Barazza , who after hanging up his knee pads will take on the role of sporting director and youth coach. Aldo Decortes was confirmed in the role of team manager. “A further step forward for the company – adds Sarti – which will be able to continue to grow, thanks to the contribution of these excellent professionals”.

In the next few days the company will formalize other names as regards the composition of both the team group and the technical staff, and in both cases many news and very few confirmations are announced. The knot relating to the competition field is still to be solved, but according to some rumors the Geovillage could be available again by the beginning of the summer.
