Second stage of the Giro della Provincia on the roads of Torre d’Isola with 198 cyclists at the start and good performances of the Pavia colors. Especially the veterans of the two series are in great shape, a race dominated by strength by Saverio Gallello (Gca Garlasco), veteran-1 of 2nd series with Stefano Gherardi (wearing the colors of Lnc Mantova and is of Santa Crostina and Bissone) in second place and the lomellino di Sannazzaro, Giuseppe Scuderi (in his second year in the ranks of the Ligurian team Quinto al Mare) on the third step of the podium. Among the veteren-2. of 2nd series was excellent third in category Fausto Volpi of Team Elia Pavia.
Spectacular the crowded sprint that signed the final with over seventy supergentlemen lined up. The success, as expected, went to the Cremonese specialist Ettore Manenti of Team Stocchetti.
Places of honor for two accredited sprinters from Pavia: second Paolo Bianchi de GC Varzi and third Ivano Galvi of Cycling Team Garlasco. In the super-A classification of 2nd series fifth place for Gaetano Martinello of Cycling Garlasco.
Finally, the trial of the gentlemen: absolute winner of a group marched on Massimo Picco from Piacenza, gentleman-2 of SC Pontenure. In the final order of arrival the fifth place of Raffaele Buscone, gentleman-1 of the Staffora Triathlon and the sixth of Pietro Re of the GC Varzi stand out. Fabio Longo, organizer of the Giro on behalf of the Acsi Pavia committee, comments satisfied: «The project of the multi-winning Giro is working well. There was no shortage of memberships and entertainment. Our challenge continues with the Mortara race, valid for the Bar Bottega 920 Trophy, set for next Saturday ». –
