Another place on the podium. One more medal. Another test, both individually and collectively, passed with flying colors. In the fourth and final stage of the Italia Cup Laser, which took place in the Reggio Calabria regatta field, the mixed Salerno team – made up of athletes from the Irno Rowing Club and the Italian Naval League, and trained by the technician Erberto Sibilia – has knew how to get respected. The waters of the Strait gave Paola Lavorato a prestigious second place last weekend, who was awarded the silver medal at the end of the performance offered in the Under 16 female category of the 4.7 class (Ilca4). No less important was the podium touched by Antonio Vitolo in the overall overall classification of Ilka4: fourth out of eighty participants. In the Radial laser class (Ilca6), on the other hand, Massimiliano Cinquanta entered the “top ten”, who finished in eighth place overall an almost constant path in the various seasonal stages. The previous week, on the occasion of the sixth stage of the 2021 Laser Zonal Championship, a regatta of national interest included in the Fiv Coni events calendar, which was held in the Agropoli water basin, in the Radial category, first place overall and the title of best under 19 for Massimiliano Cinquanta from Salerno, who preceded Antonio Persico of the Italian Naval League section of Naples and his teammate Alessandro Mare.
The results obtained by the Salerno team served to score nationally and also to assign the passes for the next European Championship of the category, which will take place in July in Germany: our standard bearers Alessandro Mare and Massimiliano Cinquanta (in the ‘Ilca6) and Antonio Vitolo and Vito Mea (in Ilca4). Finally, the countdown has also come to an end for the start of the promotional activity, conducted in synergy by the two clubs. In fact, starting from 14 June and until 30 July (from Monday to Friday, from 8.30 to 13.30), the appointment with the summer sailing camps in the stretch of water in front of the Masuccio Salernitano port returns. These are introductory courses to this sport, which are reserved for children: the age group from 7 to 13 is interested. The lessons will be supervised by federal instructors and all the necessary equipment will be made available by the organization.
