On Friday there was also mother Monica at the construction site where her son, Mattia Battistetti, had been killed by those scaffolding that fell from the crane and the inspectors of the Spisal and the court expert asked precisely that justice be done.

MONTEBELLUNA.“Justice”: this was asked last Friday by Monica Michielin, the mother of Mattia Battistetti, the 23-year-old who was killed on 29 April by scaffolding that fell from the crane in the construction site of the Residence Magellano in Guarda di Montebelluna.

He asked the inspectors of Spisal and the expert appointed by the prosecutor who went to the construction site to make further investigations on the fatal accident that sees ten suspects for manslaughter: from the owners of the construction site and of the company for which the young man worked to the safety manager, to the crane operator, to those who had done the revision, in short, all those who may have had to do with what happened.

On Friday there was also mother Monica at the construction site where her son had been killed by those scaffolding that fell from the crane and the inspectors of the Spisal and the court expert asked precisely that justice be done.

He had also asked for it in church, on the day of Mattia’s funeral, on Friday he repeated it to those who are carrying out the investigations. “The strength of those who loved Mattia – explain the family members – is now in doing him justice”. That of Mattia Battistetti, a young man of 23 with many projects, was a loss that left mother Monica, father Giuseppe, sister Anna, grandparents Luciano and Rosanna, girlfriend Giada with her family in despair.

«From that day – says Mattia’s family – everything has stopped except the tears that incessantly streak our faces». A wound that does not heal, the only consolation is the fact that in that tragedy there was a further gesture of generosity by Mattia: the donation of organs, which made it possible to help other people: his corneas were in fact donated in Portugal and in Puglia, the bone tissues in Agordo, Ortisei, Latisana and Rovereto, the vascular tissues in Verona and Legnago, others are preserved for those who need them. It was the morning of April 29 when Mattia Battistetti was overwhelmed by the load of scaffolding fallen from the crane, with him there was a colleague, another young worker. “They were like brothers – recalls the Battistetti family – a foreign boy whom Mattia esteemed so much, between them there was a true friendship, made up of simple things, respect, sharing”.

Standing there is also the intention of the mayor of Montebelluna, Elzo Severin, to remember Mattia Battistetti in the place where he was killed by the load of scaffolding fallen from the crane.
