SANT’AGATA BOLOGNESE – It’s as big as the real one but doesn’t burn 0-100 in 2.8 seconds and doesn’t even hit 350 per hour. It is still, immobile like a statue because it is the craziest of the reproductions made by Lego. A life-size Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, built with 400,000 bricks, 20 of which are printed specifically for this project. In short, a model, if it is legitimate to call it that, weighing 2200 kg, which reproduces the unmistakable design of the first hybrid of the house of Toro while maintaining its same dimensions to the millimeter: 4,980 mm in length, 2,101 mm in width and 1,133 in height.
To create it, it took 8,660 hours of work by a team of 15 people made up of designers, engineers and technicians from the two companies who, in addition to the bodywork, also wanted to take care of the details inside the passenger compartment: from the steering wheel with the classic Lamborghini shield. from the controls of the instrument panel to the Racing sports seats, all rigorously with the famous bricks of the Danish company.
“Our designers love challenges, so you can imagine their happiness when we hired them to“ think bigger ”in making this model,” says Lena Dixen, Senior Vice President of Product and Marketing at the Lego Group. “They certainly wasted no time and immediately formed a team with our amazing designers and engineers who are building these impressive life-size models at the production workshop of the factory in Kladno, Czech Republic, and have created something that goes far beyond the limits of the imagination of what can be accomplished with Technic. This allowed us to fully respect the exceptional design of the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37. ” To complete the work also the particular UV varnish that perfectly reproduces that of the Technic model in 1: 8 scale presented last year.
“Lamborghinis are considered dream cars around the world, and Lego is a creative brand of inspiration for millions of people,” explains Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “We are delighted to have participated in the creation of this exclusive edition of the Sián, which will surely win over both Lamborghini and Lego enthusiasts alike.” In short, nothing more than a model. Here children have very little to do with it. (fp)
