Autonomous driving, Huawei technology ready in 2025

by admin

ROME – With a view to increasing business differentiation, the Chinese giant Huawei Technologies is implementing its research in the field of technology for driverless vehicles, a goal it expects to achieve by 2025.

This precise choice is also the result of the strategy that the Chinese telecommunications systems giant is implementing following the US sanctions introduced by former President Donald Trump who defined the company as a threat to the national security of the United States. During a conference of the telecommunications electronics industry, Wang Jun, senior executive of Huawei’s intelligent vehicle unit, specified that “our team’s goal is to reach true self-driving cars in 2025”.

It should be emphasized, however, that the famous mobile phone brand had already started research on possible applications in the automotive field, including autonomous driving, already at the dawn of 5G technology. Huawei then expanded its reach by switching to intelligent electric vehicles after its global smartphone business was strained by US sanctions.

Currently, dozens of start-ups, automakers and large tech companies such as China’s online search leader Baidu are accelerating their work to fine-tune and develop systems for automated driving vehicles which, after the electric transition, should represent. the next big revolution in the mobility sector.
