Alfa Romeo celebrates its 111 years together with the fans

by admin

On Thursday 24 June, Alfa Romeo turns 111: on the same day in 1910, the Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili (ALFA) company was born in Milan, which became Alfa Romeo in 1918 following the acquisition by the engineer and entrepreneur from Campania Nicola Romeo. Alfa Romeo is a brand that has strongly characterized the history of the car and has been able to gather around itself large groups of enthusiasts who constantly follow its evolution: precisely to involve these fans and give them the opportunity to meet and experience the passion for the Casa del Biscione, Alfa Romeo will organize four days of events at the Historical Museum of Arese which hosts the most significant models of the brand. The event will start on Thursday 24th at 10.00 with the traditional parade open to all private owners of an Alfa Romeo, of any model and seniority, who will be able to parade with their cars on the internal track of the complex. The theme of the parade (and of all four days) will be the tribute to Alfa red, the color that has always distinguished the Alfa Romeo cars to the point of becoming an integral part of Alfa Romeo’s DNA: visitors will in fact be invited to wear something red; red will also be the masks that will be distributed for free at the entrance, to live these special days in safety. The day of the 24th, then, will be remembered with particular emotion by the first buyers of the exclusive Giulia GTA and GTAm: in fact, the first examples of these extraordinary cars produced in only 500 numbered units will be delivered. The lucky owners will thus be able to take the first steps of the exclusive customer experience dedicated to them on Alfa Romeo’s birthday. There is no better way to celebrate than to sit in the driver’s seat of these supercars equipped with an enhanced version of the 540 HP 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo engine, whose specific power of 187 HP / liter is best in class. , which represents the maximum expression of the brand’s unique ability to combine style and sportiness. The Heads of Brand, Design and Engineering will take part in the event, who will accompany customers in this exclusive experience, illustrating them the details and background of a unique project. Customers will then be able, at 12.00, to go directly to the track with their car for an exclusive parade and participate in an exclusive thematic visit of the museum specially prepared: a path reserved for the search for lightness, among the cars of the Museum and with the materials of the Documentation Center, to improve racing performance and driving pleasure on the road. The study of new materials, experience in the world of aeronautics but also the special “Pronto corsa” versions, from the pre-war 8C 2300 Monza to the legendary “lightened” GT cars of the 1950s and 1960s: the Giulietta Sprint Veloce and the Giulia Sprint GTA, whose “A” of the name really means “Lightened”. The story continues with the 75 Turbo Evoluzione up to the present day with the new Giulia GTA and GTAm. This will be followed by a parade reserved for Alfa Romeo Clubs at 3.00 pm, also invited to participate at 3.30 pm in a meeting dedicated to the presentation of the Museum’s calendar of activities and the sharing of proposals from those who live the passion for the brand in a special way. It should be emphasized that two parades will take place every day (at 10.00 and 17.00) and to participate it is essential to register at the email address [email protected]. And for those who love Formula 1 racing cars, at the Museum it will be possible to experience live the approach path to the Austrian GP with free practice, qualifying and the race broadcast live on a giant screen. The Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen single-seater show car will be on display throughout the period and on Friday 25th there will be an exclusive moment, with limited seats, during which guests will be able to experience, in connection with the Spielberg circuit, the emotion of a meeting with the team riders, Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi, discovering the secrets of the paddock and garage through a virtual tour. From the present to the glorious past. Two in-depth conferences on the history of the brand will be held on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27: the first will talk about the anniversary of the first ALFA victory (Modena, 1911, Regularity Competition), while the second will focus on the characteristics of the Concept 4C, the prototype of the supercar designed by the Alfa Romeo Style Center in 2011. At the end of the conference, 4C owners are invited to parade their cars on the internal track. Still on a historical theme, the exhibition “Sea horses” can be visited, which explores a fascinating and lesser-known chapter in Alfa Romeo history, the use of Biscione engines in boating: from racing to transport, from military to fishing vehicles. . Every day from 10 to 18 – opening hours of the Museum – it will also be possible to visit the “behind the scenes”, by booking a guided tour of the Collection, the two floors of the deposits where cars, engines, trophies, chassis and other materials that are not normally exposed to the public. At the weekend there are also activities for groups and families: from the creative workshop for children scheduled for Saturday 26th at 3pm, to the Treasure Hunt on Sunday 27th June at 4.30pm. The complete program can be consulted on the museoalfaromeo.com website at this link and all activities are included in the entrance ticket. It is necessary to book by writing to [email protected].
